Félix Award winner Norman Marshall Villeneuve is a Canadian jazz legend. With a musical career of over six decades, he is father figure to generations of musicians. Born in 1938, he is from Montreal’s Saint-Henri, home to Oscar Peterson and Oliver Jones. He has performed with a legion of jazz royalty such as Duke Ellington, Oliver Jones, Junior Mance, Barry Harris, Curtis Fuller, Jackie McLean, Charlie Rouse and Dave Young. Under his banner, Norman Marshall Villeneuve’s Jazz Message, Norm has provided performance opportunities to many young musicians. He is an active and beloved leader on the Canadian jazz scene.
